  • day 1

    Humantay Lake

Kickstart your Premium Salkantay Trek with a scenic drive from Cusco to Challacancha. En route, you'll stop for breakfast and follow the first 3-hour hike. This acclimatization hike will allow you to adapt to the altitude while marveling at the breathtaking landscapes. You’ll settle into your Sky Camp in Soraypampa, enjoying a hearty meal and preparing for the adventure ahead. In the afternoon, you’ll climb for 3 hours to the famous Humantay Lake. We’ll spend a good amount of time at the base, taking in the sights of Humantay Glacier, and then return to the campsite for dinner and rest.

  • day 2

    Salkantay Trail

Today, we’ll take the challenging ascent to the Salkantay Pass. It’ll be a 4-hour walk to see the spectacular Salkantay mountain from its base and the staggering surrounding peaks. The sights include the Pumasillo Peak and what was once one the region’s largest glaciers. You’ll also learn about the significance of the Apu Salkantay. We’ll then descend through the cloud forest for lunch at Wayracmachay Camp. Finally, we'll continue 3 more hours to the Mountain Sky View Campsite, offering a unique transparent dome experience. Gaze at the star-studded sky while lying in the comfort of your cabin.

  • day 3

    Salkantay Trail

This day is to hike through the verdant valleys of Santa Teresa. We’ll be up early toward La Playa for a 5-hour walk, observing wildlife and vegetation everywhere: rivers, waterfalls, orchids, and the local fruit production. This is also the place where Peruvian coffee gets its world recognition and exceptional flavor. We’ll set camp at the Jungle Domes for lunch and then spend the rest of the afternoon at a local farm. Take this time to learn all about coffee by participating in its production. Tonight, you’ll return to the camp and sleep at the Jungle Domes

  • day 4

    Mirador de Llactapata

Today we add a bit of history by crossing some of the original Inca Trail. You’ll depart early from the camp and hike for about 2 hours to the Llactapata Archeological Site. This stretch is difficult, but the reward is fantastic: the first glimpse at Machu Picchu. Take time to break and snap some photos as you learn the Incas' history with the guide.

    Aguas Calientes

Later, we’ll continue to the lunch place at Aobamba and the Hidroelectrica station, where you’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes. This short 25-minute trip is full of incredibly scenic views of the rocky cliffs surrounding Machu Picchu Sanctuary. On arrival, you’ll dine in a top restaurant and sleep in an upgraded hotel for the night.

  • day 5

    Machu Picchu

Today we’ll start at dawn to take the first bus to Machu Picchu. This is to beat the crowds and get there at the first rays of light. You’ll have a 2 hours guided tour exploring the most crucial nooks, including temples, houses, and alleys. The famous pictures of the Citadel are taken at the observatories, so you’ll have plenty of time for that. If you have tickets, you can take the additional mountain hikes: Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu.

Back at Aguas Calientes, you’ll break for lunch and finish with the train back to Ollantaytambo and a transfer to the hotel in Cusco.

  • day 6

We will take a long morning to sleep in and rest after our long hike adventure. We will meet for late morning coffee and yoga.

At lunch we will explore the town of cusco, visit the markets, shop, have tea, etc.

We will finish our journey with a group dinner & celebratory drinks.
